David has led the development and review of closure plans in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to address engineering, geochemical characterization and modelling, as well as financial reviews related to closure guarantees and provisions. This enables companies to align their closure strategies with corporate and international standards (such as ICMM) and to reduce technical, environmental, and economic risks.
He has extensive experience in environmental studies and sectoral permits for mining projects, including EIAs, DIAs, and technical reports for permit applications before SERNAGEOMIN, helping to achieve more efficient approval processes and better regulatory traceability.
He has also developed innovation projects aimed at automating and optimizing processes in mining and geosciences, and has implemented spatial analysis methods and technologies (GIS, SPR, and GPS) for planning and territorial management of environmental variables within the framework of project environmental assessments.
