Groundwater management influences mining operations and costs from project design through to closure. Our team of groundwater specialists establish baseline monitoring programs that support the relevant production and environmental permitting requirements.

By conducting baseline groundwater monitoring before mining or other industrial activities begin, operators can identify and track impacts over time. We design and implement groundwater baseline characterization studies early in the process for scoping, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies.

We also assist in designing and implementing monitoring systems, including selecting and procuring instrumentation. We then use the data produced to develop conceptual and numerical groundwater models which help us understand the potential for changes in groundwater quality and quantity. Carrying out long-term monitoring programs before and during operations improves prediction of changes in groundwater conditions.
