Nargiza Ospanova

Nargiza holds Master of Environmental Studies from University of Pennsylvania. She commenced her professional journey in 2011 as an Environmental Specialist with the Committee of Environmental Regulation and Control under the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Her role encompassed a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including environmental control, inspection, regulation, monitoring, and reporting.

In 2019, she transitioned into the consulting sector, where she has since honed her expertise in identifying and evaluating environmental, social, and governance risks and opportunities across a diverse array of projects. Her expertise has also been instrumental in aligning with a number of renewable energy and municipal infrastructure projects with the stringent requirements of international financial institutions such as the EBRD, ADB and AIIB.

Since joining SRK in 2023, Nargiza has applied her ESG expertise to support mining projects across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Saudi Arabia—guiding them from initial scoping through to feasibility studies. Her contributions include preparing the environmental sections of comprehensive technical reports, supporting the review of subsoil use and environmental permitting requirements, and ensuring legislative compliance throughout project development.
