He specializes in hydraulics, stormwater management, water and wastewater treatment plants, pump station and pipeline design, surge analysis, and the design of both lined and unlined earth embankment dams (APP on DWS database). He holds a B.Eng. (Civil) degree from the University of Pretoria, a Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and an Advanced Certificate in Project Management. He is a registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) with ECSA and a registered Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr. CPM) with SACPCMP. Tiaan holds memberships with SAICE, SANCOLD, and SAIMM.
