Maydon Wharf Terminal, managed by Transnet Port Terminals is based within the Port of Durban and comprises of the Multi – Purpose Terminal (MPT) and the AgriPort Terminal. The MPT is divided into sheds and squares.
The MPT operates across five berths and handles both import and export cargo which includes chrome ore, coal, metallurgical coke, ferrochrome, manganese, containers, granite, steel, palletized and bagged cargo.

TPT MPT has the capacity to store more than 100 000 tons of coal and ore and therefore an Atmospheric Emissions License (AEL) and Environmental Authorisation are required for the following activities:
A Section 24G application in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (NEMA) and AEL in terms of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2008 (NEM:AQA) are currently being applied for.
