On May 8 and 9, 2025, SRK held its annual meeting in the city of Puerto Varas, Chile. The event brought together more than 60 professionals from SRK’s Latin American offices, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and Peru, under the theme: “Connecting People, Driving the Future.”
This prominent gathering featured an agenda designed to foster collaboration, drive innovation, and promote knowledge exchange in key areas such as geotechnics, mine closure, and sustainability. The event also included the participation of distinguished regional and global leaders, including: Alejo Sfriso, President of the SRK Global Group; Jeff Parshley, former President of the SRK Global Group; Esteban Hormazábal, Managing Director of SRK Chile; Antonio Samaniego, Corporate Consultant of SRK Peru; Jorge Laiun, President and Managing Director of SRK Argentina; Thiago Toussaint, Managing Director of SRK Brazil; and Diego Cobos, President of SRK Colombia.
As part of the activities aimed at strengthening integration among SRK teams in Latin America, a sightseeing tour was organized on Saturday, May 10, which included visits to the Petrohué Waterfalls and Todos Los Santos Lake, culminating in a camaraderie lunch at a renowned local restaurant.
The LATAM Summit has established itself as a unique platform for sharing technical knowledge and exploring new opportunities to drive the future of sustainable mining.
