SRK mentors and mentees share their thoughts on advocating for women in the mining industry and what empowering female leaders means to them.
SRK is a proud sponsor of the 2021 International Women in Resources Mentoring Programme (IWRMP).
The IWRMP is a global mentoring programme for women in mining, developed and run by International Women in Mining. The programme aims to empower women working in the resources sector across all functions and continents. SRK joins Rio Tinto, Newmont Corporation, New Gold, and Centerra Gold in supporting the programme, which commences in April 2021.
In 2020, 106 participants from 20 countries joined the programme, including 7 mentors and 10 mentees from global SRK practices. We asked some of these participants what they gained from the experience and what championing women in the mining industry means to them.
