Tarik is a Professional Engineer with over 38 years of experience in civil engineering for infrastructure and mine waste projects. Before joining SRK in 2020, he primarily consulted on geotechnical and waste management projects in the U.S., Canada, and Central and South America. “Tarik’s extensive experience in large-scale geotechnical engineering projects, combined with his history in academia and desire to mentor, make him an incredible asset as we develop SRK’s next generation of engineers, “ said SRK Reno Practice Leader Breese Burnley.

Douglas is a Professional Geological Engineer with 30 years of exploration and consulting experience. He specializes in the study of precious and base metal exploration properties and acquisition targets in North and South America. “Doug is a well-respected geologist with a wealth of international experience in resource geology and due diligence reviews,” said SRK Denver Practice Leader Matthew Hastings. “Being Reno-based, Doug will enhance SRK’s strong geology presence in the growing Nevada mining market.”

Luis is a Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, including geotechnical and tailings engineering, construction management, and site team assembly. He has focused primarily on monitoring the stability of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and has played a pivotal role in constructing several upstream and centerline TSFs. “Luis re-enters the consulting world after over a decade of progressive and valuable experience in designing and operating large-scale conventional tailings facilities,” said SRK Tucson Practice Leader Cori Hoag. “His expertise offers practical insights to clients who plan to build, operate, or close these facilities.

“Tarik, Doug, and Luis expand the breadth and depth of our principal consulting team in terms of geotechnical engineering, resource geology, and tailings engineering. Their expertise and industry profiles add momentum to our capacity to generate value for our clients in the global mining industry,” said SRK U.S. Managing Director Terry Braun.
