We are pleased and proud to share news of the Mining Journal having listed SRK Group Chairman Jeff Parshley as one of mining’s most influential people of 2020.

The Mining Journal indicated that the 2019 list changed for 2020 to reflect the increasing role that environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) plays in the mining sector today. Jeff is a respected authority in mining-related environmental and closure work, with nearly 40 years of experience supporting his #22 Mining Journal ranking.

Jeff’s influence within the mining industry extends well beyond his work as a mine closure consultant with SRK. He regularly works on World Bank and IFC compliance projects and has contributed to the preparation of several regulatory guidelines for mine closure and closure cost estimating. He also collaborated with the Nevada mining industry, the State of Nevada USA, and the US Bureau of Land Management to develop the Standardized Reclamation Cost Estimator (SRCE), a public domain Microsoft Excel-based tool used by mining companies around the world to calculate mine closure costs for financial assurance.

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Jeff is known as a thought leader in his field; he has published numerous articles and papers and frequently presents workshops to mining companies and U.S. government agencies.
