SRK's Principal Consultant Caue Araujo will deliver a presentation at this month's SMEDG meeting entitled 'Challenges and Opportunities in Valuation of Mineral & Coal Assets - Focus on Exploration and Resources'. He will provide a summary of the main challenges and opportunities faced by independent consultants when valuing exploration assets, advanced exploration assets and pre-development assets, with a focus on geology, exploration and resources.

Caue (Paul) Araujo is an experienced mining professional with skills and experience encompassing geology, commercial leadership, mining finance & investment strategy, mineral economics, economic modelling and project management. Caue has participated in mining project evaluations/due diligence, and mineral resource/ ore reserve audits (NI 43-101, JORC, VALMIN and US SEC). He has prepared independent technical reports/valuations and global strategic geological exploration assessments across a range of geological environments and commodities. Most recently, Caue held the roles of Global Iron Ore Industry Director (Australian Mineral Economics Group) and General Manager (SRK Consulting Brazil). He has in-depth knowledge of technical and commercial aspects of the iron ore industry, and significant exposure to other bulk commodities, base metals, precious metals and industrial/energy minerals in Asia-Pacific, the Americas, Russia and Africa. Prior to consulting, Caue gained experience in iron ore open pit grade control, brownfield exploration target generation, geologic 3D modelling/long-term planning while working for VALE S.A. in Brazil. He also has three years’ experience as an environmental analyst/ geologist.
