Panel: The Most Commonly Encountered Implementation Questions from Real-World Ore Sorting Projects

Thursday, January 21   |   4:00 PM

The objective of this panel discussion is to provide practical advice and guidelines for some of the most commonly encountered questions by ore sorting equipment vendors, consultants and engineering service providers. The discussion panel is composed of a wide spectrum of viewpoints that draw upon a wide variety of real-world implementations. Questions will be drawn from three topic areas. Topic area 1 consists questions regarding sorting project definition. Questions in this topic area will address such challenges as how to define an ore sorting project and its objectives, understanding important orebody characteristics, bulk vs. particle sorting decisions, test work programs and how to get a sorting project approved by a board. Topic area 2 consists of questions regarding sorting project engineering, design, commissioning and operations. Questions in the topic area will address implementation challenges such as design criteria, flowsheet design, EPCM best practices, commissioning and operations training and remote support, and implementation of QA/QC measures. Topic area 3 consists of questions regarding the future of sensor-based sorting and innovation such as developing technologies, relationships with sustainability, service models, and innovative designs.
