He has wide-ranging field-based experience in exploration project management, drilling management and supervision (auger, sonic, DD, AC/RC), geotechnical and structural logging, geological logging and sampling, mapping, and conventional and ionic geochemistry soil sampling.
Tumelo has worked on projects exploring for orogenic, epithermal and alluvial gold, porphyry and sedimentary copper, iron ore, magnetite-vanadium in ultramafic complexes, phosphate, diamonds and coal projects, as well as tailings storage facility investigation for possible reprocessing and critical element recovery.
He holds an MSc in Economic Geology from University of the Witwatersrand.
