Tom is a Consultant in the Geotechnical Engineering team, specialising in mine waste management and ground characterisation. His work has supported SITRs, DSRs, scoping level studies, site selection studies, DBAs, technical documentation, and ongoing investigations at Tailings Storage Facilities. This includes projects located in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, West Africa and Finland.
He is experienced with ground model development, geotechnical characterisation, geospatial analysis, remote sensing, terrain analysis, stability analysis, dam breach analysis, and inundation modelling. He also specialises in geospatial analysis and remote sensing, with experience in InSAR interpretation and pond mapping time series.
Prior to joining SRK, Tom worked in civil engineering and gained a PhD in engineering geology at Imperial College London. His experiences ranged from desk studies and geotechnical characterisation to onsite inspection to supporting expert witness and forensic analysis to instrumentation and monitoring. This included rail, tunnelling, residual, highways, landslide, and harbours projects.
