Pedro Agustín Covassi

Pedro has experience in the design and analysis of geotechnical works using numerical methods, along with extensive experience in the execution and interpretation of advanced geotechnical laboratory testing, in situ testing, and geotechnical instrumentation.

Since 2010, he has held teaching positions at the National University of Córdoba (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba) at the undergraduate and graduate levels in soil mechanics, applied geotechnics, applied geophysics, and analytical mechanics. He also holds a PhD, with a thesis focused on the experimental study of mechanical anisotropy in compacted and reinforced soils. Within academia, he led a technology venture focused on the development of advanced, intelligent geotechnical monitoring systems.

He has participated in the geotechnical and structural design of various soil-structure interaction projects, including the design of excavations and retaining structures, tunnels, foundation systems, ground improvement, and geotechnical instrumentation. 

Between 2023 and 2026, Pedro worked professionally as a senior geotechnical engineer in New Zealand, where he specialized in the seismic design of geotechnical structures, ground improvement, rockfall analysis and mitigation structures, and soil liquefaction analysis and its consequences for structures and infrastructure works.
