Max Blondel

Max has a strong focus on comprehensive geotechnical analyses, ranging from bench–berm, inter-ramp and overall slope assessments to geotechnical slope reconciliations, characterization of strength properties and stability assessments of underground excavations.

He has gained extensive experience in the construction, evaluation and calibration of three-dimensional numerical models applied to underground designs (panel caving and sublevel caving) and open-pit designs (pits and waste dumps).

In the field of operational geomechanics, he has worked in underground mining using the panel caving method, assessing seismicity conditions, ground support conditions, and issuing geomechanical recommendations focused on the short-term strategic development of the mine.
