Maureen Walter

Mo specialises in acid rock drainage and metal leaching (ARDML) assessments and the prediction of long-term contact water quality from mine waste materials, pit lakes, and heap leach facilities using geochemical modelling tools including PHREEQC.

Mo has undertaken geochemistry studies from scoping and feasibility stages through to closure for projects worldwide. Her expertise includes contact water quality modelling, post-closure geochemical stability assessments, heap leach draindown and cyanide modelling, and the design and evaluation of sampling and testing programmes to support mine water management. She has also developed SRK's Pitlaker interface to streamline pit lake water quality modelling workflows.

Having spent more than seven years based in Chile and Peru, Mo has extensive experience supporting copper-gold and other polymetallic mining projects throughout Latin America, as well as across North America, Africa, and Asia.
