He has worked both on-site and remotely, handling projects from initial field evaluation to resource definition, development, active mining, and corporate advisory on integrated mineral resource strategies.
Matthew is also well-versed in internal and external M&A activities, having participated in technical evaluations for both buy and sell side transactions involving a wide range of assets. In addition to his expertise in geology and mineral resources, Matthew has extensive experience working with multi-disciplinary teams. He is familiar with many other aspects of the mining industry, including hydrogeology, geochemistry, mine design, planning, scheduling, processing, environmental permitting, and economics.
Most recently, Matthew served as the Sr. Director of Mining Technical Services for Albemarle Corporation, where he focused on growth and continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio of exploration, development, and active mining projects globally. He is fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in various data analytical, geological modeling, and general mining software.
