He earned his PhD from the University of Saskatchewan in 2017, where his research focused on the design of reclamation soil cover systems. Since then, he has worked as a geotechnical consultant specializing in tailings and mine waste management.
Kyle's core expertise includes tailings dam design and construction, stability modeling, and the characterization of soils and tailings. He also has experience planning and executing geotechnical field investigations in a variety of challenging environments, including core logging, sampling, in-situ testing, and instrumentation installation.
He currently serves as the Deputy Engineer of Record for the New Gold Rainy River Mine, leading tailings deposition planning and detailed designs for tailings dam raises.
