Alexandra Castillo

Alexandra has contributed to the preparation of environmental reports and numerical modeling using Groundwater Vistas (GWV) for the construction and calibration of hydrogeological models, simulation of future scenarios, and sensitivity analyses.

Additionally, she has supported the processing of input and output data for models, as well as the optimization of pumping wells based on the hydraulic properties of the environment. Recently, she gained experience in the automatic construction and calibration of a 3D model of a waste landfill at Minera Centinela, using Groundwater Vistas (GWV). For this project, pilot points were implemented to calibrate parameters such as permeability and storage, utilizing tools like PEST and BEOPEST.

Alexandra has also worked on 2D variable-density models using FEFLOW software. These models were developed for environmental purposes, focusing on evaluating the behavior of sensitive areas under different production scenarios, including brine and industrial water.
