We are proud to announce that the Mining Journal has ranked SRK Consulting’s Jeff Parshley as one of the industry’s most influential people for the second year in a row.

With the worldwide focus on the supply of battery minerals, this year’s Mining Journal’s list includes prominent voices on the energy transition. Also recognized are mining executives assigning top priority to environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), owing to the push by investors and regulators for better-defined ESG reporting standards. Jeff’s contributions to the development of ESG frameworks and thought leadership within the field of mine closure validate his #27 listing.

A professional geologist and corporate consultant with SRK’s Nevada Geoenvironmental group, Jeff has contributed significantly to environmental conservation globally, sharing his mine closure knowledge well beyond industry consulting to private and government organizations. His work includes best practices, corporate standards, guidance documents, and regulatory policies supporting the building of ESG frameworks that account for legal, financial, stakeholder, technical, and institutional-capacity considerations of mine closure. In collaboration with the State of Nevada and the US Bureau of Land Management, Jeff was the primary author of the Standardized Reclamation Cost Estimator, or SRCE, a public domain tool used around the world to calculate mine closure costs for financial assurance.

Jeff is a graduate of Dartmouth College and has more than 40 years of experience. He served as SRK’s global group chairman from 2016 to 2021and is the 2021 president of the American Exploration & Mining Association.
