In 2010, SRK opened an office in Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with Susa Maleba as the country manager. A graduate of the University of Lubumbashi, Susa has a postgraduate degree in mining environmental control from the University of Pretoria and has worked for Gécamines in the DRC and various consulting firms in South Africa. He is an expert in mine design and planning and during the last decade has focused on environmental and social studies for major mining companies.

Our DRC office specializes in environmental and social sustainability, hydrogeology and hydrology, and geotechnical engineering. The dewatering of mining operations in Katanga Province has been critical to its success. In terms of environmental and social services, SRK Congo has helped develop food and agricultural projects.
