In this "mini-roundtable" discussion with Corporate Disputes magazine, specialists from around the globe offer their insight into the trends in mining sector disputes. SRK's Andrew Van Zyl, Neal Rigby, and Jeames McKibben are joined by Cameron Ford and Timothy Nelson in providing discerning answers to these questions and more:

  • Could you provide an overview of the volume, size and scope of disputes currently taking place within the mining sector?
  • What particular dispute management and resolution techniques would you suggest are most suitable for this sector?
  • How would you evaluate the benefits of mediation, arbitration and litigation?
  • What early steps can assist the process?
  • How do you envisage the outlook for the mining sector over the next 12 to 18 months in terms of the nature and prevalence of disputes?
