Senior Underground Mining Engineer - Mexico

We are seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to be based in our Zacatecas, Mexico Office.

The successful candidate will consult on projects for Mexico and International clients; the ability to travel internationally is required. Assignments will be diverse, including engineering studies (scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility), mine planning, ventilation, geotechnical engineering, risk assessments, operational advice, due diligence/independent reporting projects, and the provision of leadership and advice to clients. Project deliverables to clients will include written reports and presentations.

Desired skills and qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelors Degree in mining engineering/geology or equivalent. A master’s degree will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the following:
    • Leadership of underground mine engineering groups (e.g. operation, mine planning, rock mechanics, ventilation, etc.)
    • Knowledgeable of different underground mining methods and experience in different mine environments.
    • Experience with two or more different mineral resources types such as precious metals, base metals, iron ore, potash or uranium.
    • Working knowledge of computerized mine planning tools (e.g. Gemcom, Mine Sight, Vulcan or Mine2-4D);
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-work capabilities;
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally; and
  • Predominantly Spanish speaking with fluent English.
