Senior-Principal Hydrogeologist - Saskatoon

We are seeking a Senior or Principal Hydrogeologist for our Saskatoon office. The successful candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s and preferably a Master’s degree in hydrogeology or a related field such as geology, hydrology, hydrogeochemistry, or environmental engineering, with a strong emphasis in groundwater.
• 5 to 10 years of work experience in one or more of the disciplines listed above. Experience at or around mine sites would be a very strong plus. A PhD in a relevant discipline would be considered a reasonable substitute for some, but not all work experience.
• Confidence applying database, geological-modeling, geochemical-modeling, and/or GIS software. Experience with numerical groundwater-flow and transport models would be a strong plus, but is not required.
• Environmental and political sensitivity. Some knowledge of permitting and environmental requirements for drilling and construction projects is essential; a history of successful interaction with clients, regulators, and/or non-governmental organizations would be very well received.
• Track record of successful project management and leadership of staff and contractors at a task or project level.

The successful candidate will consult on projects for North American and International clients, requiring travel to varying environments. Assignments will include design, management, and implementation of mine-dewatering and mining-environmental investigations. The position will require travel to and work in difficult and varied climates, and work in and around surface and underground mines.

As a consultant, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain client relationships and work in a team environment. Strong communication skills and interpersonal capabilities are essential.
