Consultant Level Mining Engineer - Cardiff

CONSULTANT LEVEL MINING ENGINEER
CARDIFF, WALES, UK

SRK Consulting (UK) is seeking a Consultant level Mining Engineer to join an expanding Open Pit team. The work will involve undertaking the following activities:

• open pit mine planning, optimisation and design studies
• reserve evaluations, production schedule, mine equipment and economic evaluation
• project management and co-ordination
• report and proposal writing
• liaising with clients and other consultants

Applicants should, as a minimum, have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a mining related discipline and have experience of working with a variety of commodities. Applicants should have essential experience in different aspects of the open pit mine planning processes including optimisation, pit design, equipment selection and production scheduling.

Excellent communication, technical report writing and project management skills, together with a high level of numeracy, are essential. Candidates must also be fluent in written and spoken English.

This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects in the UK and overseas and international travel will form a significant part of the role.

Salary Scale (Inclusive of Pension): £25,000 to £45,000 depending on skills
